Geek's Steven Smith had a chance to talk over the possibility of a 'Samurai Jack' movie with Phil LaMarr at Denver Comic-Con this year. The verdict?

Watch: Samurai Jack The Movie?

"[The show's creator] Genndy [Tartakovsky] says he wants to, but it's a feature film and movies cost a lot of money." Tartakovsky himself has said "[he's] trying so hard" to make a 'Jack' movie, and Sony has displayed at least some interest in producing the film; however, it's currently unclear what kind of investment -- if any -- Sony has made in the series. While LaMarr acknowledges that the fans really want the 'Jack' team to finish the story, he points out that in this day and age it's hard to find funding for feature-length films. Which sucks, because 'Samurai Jack' is TOTALLY AWESOME.

Fortunately, as Steven and LaMarr point out, a lot of productions now manage to acquire funds through Kickstarter or other crowd-sourcing networks. Will Tartakovsky -- originally from the USSR -- use something like Kickstarter or Indiegogo to finish the 'Jack' saga? Only time will tell...but as LaMarr astutely points out "in Russia, kick starts you!"
