J. August Richards On Who He's Playing In 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

While at Denver Comic Con, we had a chance to sit down and chat with 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." star J. August Richards about working with Joss Whedon, what he thinks about Agent Coulson's return, and, oh yeah... Who he's playing in the upcoming pilot, including a revelation that's gonna blow your little minds:

Watch: Who's J. August Richards In Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

So that opens it up a bit, doesn't it? As Richards invites you to do in the video, we can definitely read into his statement, and accept the team has gone for color-blind casting for his role. So it seems he may not be playing Power Man, Rage, or any other African-American characters we suspected. Maybe he's someone totally original? Or maybe... Squirrel Girl?

Okay, probably not Squirrel Girl, but some other choice revelations from the interview:

- "When someone dies, they die," says Richards on Agent Coulson's apparent demise and resurrection in the Marvel Cinematic U.

- "Marvel makes you feel like Iron Man is gonna show up at your house if you say something you're not supposed to... And kill you," said Richards. Let's hope that doesn't happen, Richards was delightful!

What do you think, folks? Does this, in fact, open things up to the entire Marvel Universe? And who is Richards playing, anyway?
