The Top 10 Best Animated Moms Ever

By Kendra Beltran

Being a mom is something I will never be. I don’t have the mindset, maturity or social life to attain that title, but it’s something I admire greatly. Of course I love my own, but I couldn’t help but think about the 2D moms that graced my small screen from the time I was little to today. To celebrate Mother’s Day, we’re going to show some appreciation to these lovely animated ladies who were so great that we often wished they were our own; at least for one day! From the working mom to the crazy mom to the whale mom to everything else in between we wish these gals and all their real-life counterparts a very happy Mother’s Day!

10. Miriam Pataki “(Hey Arnold!”)

We may’ve realized by now that Miriam’s “smoothies” weren’t made of the healthiest ingredients, but when you’re married to a guy like Bob, you need to take the edge off a little. Miriam wasn’t the ideal mom, but she kept it real and made you realize that your own mom wasn’t so bad.

9. Bubbie (“The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack”)

You don’t have to be a biological parent, or even the same species to love someone. And yes, Bubbie wasn’t technically Flapjack and Cap’n K’nuckles mother, but she provided them both with shelter and sound advice on top of all her love.

8. Martha Generic (“Bobby’s World”)

Very few moms can rock a jumpsuit and get away with it like Martha. Plus, it’s nice to know that your mom would always be there to back you up at little league when someone read your jersey wrong, don’t cha know?

7. Didi Kropotkin Kerpackter-Pickles (“Rugrats”)

The mom with all the latest baby knowledge thanks to Dr. Lipschitz. Everyone knows that those know-it-all moms can be a bit annoying, but at the same time you have to love them because when you have an apple juice stain in your jumper on picture day, she will know exactly what to do to make you look fresh and tidy.

6. Madame Foster (“Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends”)

Sometimes we forget that our grandma’s deserve attention on Mother’s Day too. Madame Foster’s heart didn’t just care for Frankie, she cared for the house that was overflowing with imaginary friends.

5. Wilma Flintstone (“The Flintstones”)

This prehistoric MILF is untouchable. She set the bar high for animated moms and will likely do it again when Seth MacFarlane brings her back from the BC.

4. Helen Morgendorffer (“Daria”)

She was a hardass working mom who rarely understood where her daughters were coming from, but when her walls did come down, she revealed that she actually cared…even if she made the same thing for dinner every night.

3. Lois Foutley (“As Told By Ginger”)

Single moms represent! One of the hardest jobs on earth is being a parent and to do it all by your lonesome? Hats off to Lois. She had not only an emotional daughter in junior high, but a son who could find trouble sitting alone in an empty room.

2. Marge Simpson (“The Simpsons”)

It’s hard to do a list like this and not mention Marge. She’s not just one of the most notable animated moms, but one of the most iconic TV moms in general. For over two decades we’ve watched her manage marriage, kids, breakdowns, seeing Mr. Burns nude, and so much more. Plus, she’s the only lady on this list to get the cover of Playboy. Talk about a hot mama!

1. Linda Belcher (“Bob’s Burgers”)

That voice, those moves, those Sally Jesse Raphael glasses…Linda Belcher is perfection when it comes to mothering. She’ll support your table-setting, coach your synchronized swimming team, and make time to turn your life into a murder mystery dinner.
