Patton Oswalt Pitches A Plot For 'Episode VII' On 'Parks And Recreation'

When asked to improvise a filibuster for this week's episode of "Parks and Recreation," comedian Patton Oswalt delivered an eight-minute riff on what the next "Star Wars" film should be about.

This week sees two episodes of "Park and Rec" airing, one of them, "Article Two," featuring a guest appearance by Oswalt as a disgruntled Pawneean attempting to filibuster changes to the city's antiquated (and possibly unconstitutional) laws. According to Hitfix, Oswalt was asked by the director to improvise a speech (only a portion of which will be seen on tomorrow's episode), but what he delivered was this glorious, lengthy pitch for J.J. Abrams' "Episode VII."

Prepare to go deep into the nerd weeds here with everything from Luke's lightsaber color to a suggestion as to who should write the opening credits crawl. Oswalt, who recently had custom "Star Wars" figures inspired by Russ Meyer films is obviously a little bit of a fan.

You can catch the full episode Thursday night at 9:30 on NBC.
