'Calvin and Hobbes' Re-imagined As A Psychological Thriller

"There's something wrong with Calvin."

What if a "Calvin and Hobbes" movie was directed by "Donnie Darko's" Richard Kelly? It might look a little something like this.

I honestly feel like the classic strip about the glories of childish imagination could actually take a turn in the dark like this as it was always reflective of creator Bill Watterson's personality and personal feelings. If the man found himself swimming in the same pool as someone like Philip K. Dick, I could see this type of story popping from his psyche. Especially if he finally sold out and let Calvin and his stuffed tiger pal slip into the paws of a greedy corporation who actually released officially licensed decals that featured Calvin urinating on a sports team logo or whatever. Who wouldn't go a little mad, am I right?
