Judd Winick Of 'Real World: San Francisco' Explains How The Show Got Him Into Comics

Watch: Judd Winick's Real World And Comic-Con Connection

Judd Winick is well-known to comic fans for his runs on "Batman," "Justice League," and the New 52 relaunch of "Catwoman." But before he was a superhero scribe, he was a simple cartoonist and fan. And as he told us at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, it was his stint on "Real World: San Francisco" that got Winick the attention he needed to launch his career in comics following a failed attempt to get recognized by Kevin Smith at a book signing. Check out the video to see how his part in MTV's reality series caught the eye of legendary editor Bob Schreck, and kicked off a career that's still going strong.

Judd Winick can be seen during the "RetroMTV: Real World" marathon this weekend, featuring full episodes of New York, San Francisco and the original Las Vegas.
