Disney Releases ‘Howl’s Moving Castle,’ ‘Totoro’ Blu-ray Specs

The pair of Studio Ghibli films are on the way from the Walt Disney Company this spring, and they’ve revealed the Blu-ray specs and special features for both.

“Howl’s Moving Castle” is the 2004 adaptation of Diana Wynne Jones’ novel about a young girl named Sophie cursed to be an old woman by a witch, who comes into the service of the film’s titular wizard. The U.S. dub included voice performances by Christian Bale, Emily Mortimer, and Billy Crystal. “My Neighbor Totoro” (1998), which turns 15 this year, follows two little girls left to their own devices as their mother battles an illness in the hospital, and the giant magical friend they make in their new home.

Disney previously released DVDs for both films during their U.S. theatrical runs, making this their first time either film has been on Blu in this region.
