Apple Reveals 128GB iPad With Retina Display

Too many comics clogging up the storage space on your iPad? Maybe you've got all of the Marvel movies on there and just need more room for your geeky media in general? Either way, Apple is taking care of you, having just announced that a new version of the fourth generation iPad will come packed with 128GBs of storage space.

"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."

Other than the increased storage space, the fourth gen. iPad is the same beast that was revealed back in October 2012 - 9.7-inch Retina display, Apple A6X chip, front and rear facing cameras, etc. With more and more businesses adopting iPad for professional use, the option of more storage seems like a no-brainer. It's also an upgrade that movie buffs on the go should pay attention to. The overall size of HD movies and TV episodes isn't shrinking, and 128GB will definitely help you keep more of your film library mobile.

Of course, just as it does now, more storage is going to cost you when the 128GB iPad hits shelves on February 5th. Available in black or white, the standard Wi-Fi model will set eager customers back $800, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular version comes in at $929.

To go along with the new iPad, Apple yesterday released iOS 6.1, which is available for download on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch right now. The system update brings additional support for various LTE networks around the globe, among other minor upgrades.
