Magneto And Professor X To Team Up On Broadway

OK, OK…this title is a wee bit misleading. But Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart did famously portray the mutant arch-rivals in the “X-Men” movies. Now they’re set to reunite on Broadway in two plays under a limited engagement: Harold Pinter’s “No Man’s Land” and Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting For Godot”.

While news about the specific Broadway venue and their co-stars are yet to be announced, the director will be Sean Mathias, who has worked several times with McKellen. This is not Stewart and McKellen’s first go at “Godot”: they performed the Beckett’s absurdist play in 2009, also under the direction of Mathias.

Which all begs the question: Perhaps one day we might see “X-Men The Musical”?
