Are All Eleven Doctors Returning For The 50th Anniversary Of 'Doctor Who'?

According to a report from the The Birmingham Mail by way of Blastr, all ten previous Doctors will join current Doctor Matt Smith on the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary special. Yes, even the dead ones.

Along with Smith, the Doctor was played by William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, and David Tennant. Hartnell, Troughton, and Pertwe having officially left the TARDIS, but that won't spoil the party as - according to the article - there is always our old friend "studio trickery" to count on. What kind "studio trickery"? We don't know. But if Tupac can do it, right?

The Birmingham Mail says that one-year Doctor, Christopher Eccleston has been the only hold-out, though he is reconsidering, which is fabulous news. But, in not so fabulous news, "Who's" 50th will proceed sans previous companions.

The final key to the special was Eccleston, who had previously said that he had no plans to return to the role but recently conceded he believed he “still had more to do with the character”. But companions such as Birmingham’s Arthur Darvill (Rory), Karen Gillan (Amy Pond), Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) and Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones) have all indicated that they are not involved.

There may, however, be a role for Alex Kingston, who plays the Doctor’s wife and who may be responsible for bringing all the previous incarnations together – against the Time Lord’s wishes.

So all eleven Doctors and River Song? Sounds great, right? NOT SO FAST says Colin Baker! The sixth Doctor has already denied the Birmingham Mail's claims by tweeting: "...apart from The Big Finish plans I am not aware of any 50th stories nor have I been approached."

Big Finish is the producer of a "Doctor Who" audio adventure that will feature the aforementioned Baker as well as Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann. According to Big Finish it's:

A new Doctor Who audio adventure, starring one of the original actors to play the Doctor on television, is released by Big Finish every month in the Main Monthly Range. Doctors featured in this range are Fifth Doctor Peter Davison, Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy and Eighth Doctor Paul McGann.

So, to wrap it up, what do we know about the "Doctor Who" 50th? Zilch.
