Guillermo del Toro Confirms 'Pacific Rim' Toys With NECA and Sideshow

The giant monster movie "Pacific Rim" will spawn some impressive toys and other collectibles, according to its director Guillermo del Toro. He recently confirmed on his message board that he would be working with companies NECA and Sideshow Collectibles on a whole variety of swag based on the eagerly-anticipated movie:

"NECA is doing toys and a ton of apparel / accessories. SIDESHOW is doing a couple of diorama statues and there are two downloadable games in progress. This plus the comics and book novelization and a few etc

Very good for an unbranded, non-sequel original property!!

Best

GDT"

Very good indeed -- in a movie marketplace filled with sequels and adaptations, it can sometimes be difficult to break through with original concepts. But if anybody can grab the attention of fans, it's del Toro, and he's apparently picked two fine toy producers to hook up with!

We'll bring you more news about the collectibles for this Summer Blockbuster as we get it!
