UK Royal Mail Reveals New 'Doctor Who' Stamp Collection

While New Zealand enjoys their legal tender coins inspired by "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", the United Kingdom's Royal Mail has turned their attention to a certain time-traveling doctor. Beginning in March, UK residents will have the chance to pick up a set of official "Doctor Who" stamps!

Fans of the long-running series can hop over to to pre-order a set, but the stamps won't be adhering themselves to any envelopes until March 26th, 2013. Also, if you don't live in the UK, you're going to have hard time ordering a set. Hopefully a friends who does live there will be able to help you out.

The limited edition stamps feature each of the eleven Time Lords. Everyone from William Hartnell (the first doctor), to Matt Smith (the current doc) makes an appearance on their own stamp. The designs show a headshot of each Doctor in front of the "iconic swirling screen indents" fans will instantly recognize from the opening credits of the TV show.

On top of the 11 stamps featuring past and present time-travelers, Royal Mail will also have a 5-stamp miniature set available. In the center of the miniature sheet, fans will find the Doctor's space and time-traveling machine, the TARDIS. This set also includes a Dalek, a Cyberman, an Ood and a Weeping Angel stamp.
