The Daily Geek: SNIKT!, First ‘Apes’ Teaser Image (NOT!), B.O. Flops And More

Welcome to MTV Geek’s daily round-up of all things GEEK from the weird, wild world of the web! Got a cool link? Share it with us on Twitter at twitter.com/mtvgeek!

SNIKT! New “Wolverine” on the way from Paul Cornell and Alan Davis? Seems it.

NOT A REAL TEASER! This image was posted on the official “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Facebook page (and then removed) with the phrase “Evolution becomes revolution.” It was quickly thought to be the first teaser image for “Apes” sequel “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” Sadly, it’s not. But I still like it.

R.I.P. Lucille Bliss, the voice of Smurfette has died at 96.

OOGIELOVE MEANS FLOP, RIGHT? The biggest flops of the year have been revelaed. “The Oogieloves In The Big Balloon Adventure” topped the list, it cost $20 million and grossed just $1 million. See the rest of the list here. Also, I highly recommend Nathan Rabin’s essay/review of “The Oogieloves” as well. It’s a great read it.

SCHWARZENEGGER! Thought Catalog is counting down “The Action Films Of Arnold Schwarzenegger, In Order Of Implausibility.” It’s a must-read.

ALL 3D ALL THE TIME! So yeah…Warner Bros. is releasing a lot of movies in 3D. (BTW, I almost typed 3D movies.)

UMMM… Listen, I know we love and support cosplay ’round these parts, but I gotta admit, this makes me a tad uncomfortable.

LEATHERFACE TOOK DRIVING LESSONS FROM MICHAEL MEYERS! Watch the first clip from “Texas Chainsaw 3D.”

WELCOME TO BLEAK HOUSE! Step inside Guillermo del Toro’s Man Cave.

’Til Monday, gang!
