DC’s Heroes Evoke Iwo Jima In ‘Justice League of America” #1 Variant Cover First Look!

As we exclusively reported at the beginning of this week, DC Comics is celebrating  the  February 2013 release of “Justice League of America” #1 by putting out a whopping 52 variant covers — one for each state in the nation, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington DC. Now the DC Source blog has revealed the first of these covers, depicting superheroes Vibe, Green Arrow, Catwoman, and Green Lantern holding up a flag in a pose reminiscent of the famous World War II Iwo Jima Memorial.
