Giant Stained Glass Iron Man Is One Fragile Superhero

A few weeks ago we showed you some awesome Lord of the Rings stained glass art, but they were only drawings made to look like stained glass. This stained glass Iron Man, on the other hand, is the real deal. Created by Etsy shop owner R Evan Daniels, the impressive piece is inspired by Iron Man's latest armor and measures 31"x47".

According to the Etsy listing, Daniels spent over 100 hours on this fragile masterpiece. It's comprised of a total of 334 individual pieces of glass and the window is 9.5 square feet. Daniels used 275 feet of copper foil and 5 rolls of solder to complete it, and he claims that it “is possibly the most amazing and complicated piece I've ever made.”

Stained glass has always been amazing to me and it seems that lately it's been making quite a comeback. So, what is it going to take to situate something this awesome in your home? Well, I can tell you one thing, it's not cheap. However, considering all of the work that goes into something this detailed, the $4,500 price tag doesn't seem all that crazy.

If Iron Man isn't your thing, but geeky stained glass art seems like something you could totally get into, you may want to check out these Mega Man and Mario pieces. There not as large as the Iron Man piece, but they're also not as expensive.
