After a successful debut with 4 million viewers this Saturday, Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is already getting a second season of 26 episodes.
Apparently a lot of you out there were really looking forward to the premiere of TMNT, because four million sets of eyes ain’t nothing to laugh at (and apparently, the network’s top-rated premiere since 2009). So what did you all think of it?
The turtles, who are nearing their 30th anniversary since Eastman and Laird’s original comics made their debut back in 1984, probably picked up a healthy number of new fans as some older devotees of the 90’s animated series came back (or just introduced a new generation of viewers to the show).
Among some of the new elements are updated origins for Splinter and the turtles, who have also been made a little younger than in previous incarnations–ditto April, who’s now a teen that the pizza-eating quartet rescue in the hour-long premiere.
You can catch new episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Saturdays at 11 AM on Nickelodeon.
