Master The Force Of Your Oven With 'The Star Wars Cookbook'

Because Star Wars IS everywhere, it's only fitting to have a "Star Wars Cookbook!" Robin Davis and Lara Starr together have concocted some galactic goodies for all of us to make, share and enjoy! Their first "Star Wars Cookbook" came out in 1998 and since it was such a success, they were asked to come out with a new edition, offering us up even more trooper treats!!

Lara Starr, the co-writer says, "Our original Star Wars Cookbook has been selling like Hoth-cakes since it was first released in 1998, and our cookbook + 'stuff' kits had been doing well, and it seemed like a great idea to pair the recipes with fun cookie cutters in the iconic shapes of Yoda, Darth Vader and R2D2." She even recruited her eleven year old son to be a creative consultant and recipe tester, since he was already a big "Star Wars" and "Clone Wars" fan. Lucky dog that little Jedi.

Even if you're not a skilled Jedi in the kitchen, just reading through this book is a treat on its own. The photography is so well done and the recipe names are so funny and witty, all puns from "Star Wars" of course! My fave -- May the Fudge Be with You. Other recipe names include Landonuts, Obi Won-Tons, Biscuit Fistos, and C-3POatmeal Crisps.

Lara's favorite galactic goodie? "My favorite things to make are the icing-decorated Skywalker Sugar Cookies. I’m never happier than when I have a pastry bag in my hand, and the cookies are just so cute and funny when they’re decorated – they make people happy."

And just so we're all clear, Lara is a die hard "Star Wars" fan from the beginning, here's a pic of her in 1977 with her brother:

And in case you're in the Bay Area, Lara will be participating in Star Wars Reads Day on October 6th – making Skywalker Sugar Cookies with kids at the Chronicle Books store in San Francisco on Union Street.
