Get A Look At 'Game of Thrones' Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau In The Guillermo del Toro Produced, 'Mama'

Director Andres Muschetti has recruited "Games of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jessica Chastain in a a feature-length adaptation of a his wonderfully spooky short, "Mama." The still above comes from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and sees the stars, along with child actresses Isabelle Nelisse and Megan Charpentier, confronting the malevolent, matronly horror of the 2013 film.

Curious? You should be. The movie's being produced by Guillermo del Toro on the strength of Muschetti's 2008 short and sees a couple taking in two young girls who might be accompanied by a not-so-happy ghost.

The film follows Chastain and Coster-Waldau's characters who take in the two young girls after the brutal murder of their mother by their father. Sisters Victoria and Lilly have been missing for five long years in the woods outside of their neighborhood, and when their uncle Lucas and his girlfriend Annabel take them in, the little girls are accompanied by something else.

You can see the original short below. The feature will be in theaters on January 18th of next year.
