DST is Resurrecting Fear Itself With These Latest Minimates

While all the cool kids are arguing over if Scott Summers is gonna bite the dust at the end of AvX, Diamond Select Toys is remembering the massive crossover events of yesteryear last year with their upcoming release of Minimate sets based on Marvel's Fear Itself! Yes, the multi-part comic event that gave us back the Winter Soldier has been immortalized forever in two multi-packs featuring the temporary looks of both the heroes and the villains. No matter what kind of taste that storyline left in our mouths, we gotta admit that the tiny, evil Thing Minimate looks pretty awesome!

Last summer, the "Fear Itself" event rocked the Marvel Universe. Heroes and villains from across the Marvel Universe were transformed into The Worthy, hammer-wielding minions of Cul, the Norse God of Fear. In response, the All-Father Odin equipped his own team of heroes, The Mighty, with Asgardian weaponry that would end the aggression of his brother, the Serpent. Titans clashed, the world shook, and heroes fell. And then Diamond Select Toys made Minimates for it!

Next week, two box sets of Marvel Minimates based on "Fear Itself" will hit comic shops and specialty stores, one based on the Worthy, and one on the Mighty. The Worthy set includes the Serpent (a.k.a. Cul), Skadi (formerly Sin), Mokk (The Grey Gargoyle) and Angrir (The Thing). The Mighty set includes the first comic-based Minimate of Odin, plus Iron Man, Spider-Man and Hawkeye in their new outfits.

Both are exclusively available on the specialty market, so visit comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest comic shop, and check out a gallery of the figures in action here!
