Fans of the original Star Trek are in for an interesting treat this month as artist Juan Ortiz has created 80 movie-style posters, one for each and every episode of Star Trek: The Original Series. The 80 posters feature retro style art and will be issued is sets of 4 over the next 20 months.
Each poster (plated-printed lithographs on 100-pound, aqueous-coated, satin-finish paper) will highlight a different episode of the original series with this first month's posters including “The City on the Edge of Forever,” “The Ultimate Computer,” “Dagger of the Mind” and “The Way to Eden.” Each poster measures 18x24-inches and a set of four will set eager fans back about $35 at QMxOnline.com, StarTrek.com, ThinkGeek.com, AllPosters.com, PosterRevolution.com, EntertainmentEarth.com, RedfordFilms.com, AnimeWild.com or RockinRobot.com.
UK fans eager to get their hands on the retro art will have a few more choices, with the art available on wood for £39.99 and £49.99 depending on what size they choose, canvas for £59.99 and as framed art prints for £49.99 from Amazon.co.uk, ForbiddenPlanet.co.uk and Oneposter.co.uk. They will also be able to pick up one of 1,701 limited edition box sets of twelve prints on art stock paper for £120 at the Destination Star Trek London event in October.
