Help Fund Alan Moore's 'Unearthing' By Pre-Ordering A Limited Edition

Top Shelf and Knockabout Comics are partnering to release Alan Moore and photographer Mitch Jenkins' "Unearthing." "Unearthing" is a narrative art-book, that according to Top Shelf serves

...as a biography of [Moore's] close friend and mentor Steve Moore (no relation), a history of London, a mystical journey, and a tribute to human imagination.

The book will be released in both a double-sized hardcover edition and a deluxe softcover edition.

In order to fund the production of this serious artistic undertaking; Moore, Jenkins and Top Shelf are offering a THIRD edition--limited to 300 hand-signed and numbered copies with letterpress bookplates up for pre-order. You can grab one of these ultra-rare editions HERE at the Top Shelf website and help make sure the book can actually happen in the first place.

This is an interesting technique that Top Shelf is using here. It's kind of like Kickstarter without the Kickstarter. Ask the fans to pre-order the product to fund the project. I like it.

More on "Unearthing" from a Top Shelf press release:

An intensely poetic and innovative work of biography, Unearthing maps the lifetime of author, orientalist and occultist Steve Moore, while simultaneously investigating the extraordinary history of South London with which that life has been intertwined. Integrating text with haunting and exquisite imagery, Unearthing excavates a territory at the margins of a city, of reality, and of human imagination.
