Your 'Ninja Turtle' News: Nick's CGI Series Dated, Plus A Fantastic, Zen Fan Animation

Those pizza-eating martial artists are heading to Nickelodeon in September, while a fan gets a jump on things and releases his own animated tribute.

First up, the new series has a firm premiere date: Saturday, September 29th at 11:00 AM on Nickelodeon. The first season will be comprised of 26 half-hour episodes, featuring the voices of American Pie star Jason Biggs as Leonardo, Ultimate Spider-Man's Batroc the Leaper Rob Paulsen as Donatello, Teen Titans' Greg Cripes as Michelangelo, and the once and eternal Rudy, Sean Astin as Raphael.

The quartet is joined by one-time evil ex and Bland Anne Mae Whitman as April O'Neill and Kevin Michael Richardson and Shredder with Hoon Lee rounding out the cast as Master Splinter.

And if your appetite for more turtles hasn't been whetted enough, there's this gorgeous tribute animation by longtime Ninja Turtles fan Malcolm Sutherland. According to the Vimeo page for the video, Sutherland was inspired in part by the original Mirage comics as well as by his love of the 1990 film (which is maddeningly out of print on Blu-ray).

Anyway, check that out below and long for a full-length production in that style.
