So as most of you may or may not know, Course Of The Force, is a five-day lightsaber relay event being held in partnership with Lucasfilm, Ltd., Nerdist Industries and Octagon. The Course of the Force is similar to an Olympic torch style relay, except participants come dressed in their favorite Star Wars™ or popular culture-themed costumes and hand off a custom lightsaber at quarter-mile markers to the next runner. On July 7, Course of the Force will kick off with an event at the Santa Monica Pier at 10:00 a.m. The relay will start later in the day and end that night at the Redondo Beach Pier. Other planned stops include Huntington Beach Pier, Oceanside and Crystal Pier at Pacific Beach. It ends July 11th at San Diego Comic-Con!! Fun right?  100% of all proceeds are going to the awesome Make-A-Wish Foundation. It's being co-hosted by MTV Geek's very own favorite Jedi, Ashley Eckstein and The Nerdist, aka Chris Hardwick.

But what MTV Geek has an EXCLUSIVE tip that that THE DAN BAND will be playing at The Course Of Force!! The Dan Band, fronted by Dan Finnerty, plays for sold out crowds from Los Angeles to New York and has appeared on numerous shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen and Last Call with Carson Daly. Finnerty garnered the attention of Steven Spielberg, who served as the executive producer of the band’s concert special, “The Dan Band: I Am Woman.” Finnerty’s scene-stealing movie appearances include Old School, the bat-mitzvah singer in Starsky & Hutch and the wedding singer in The Hangover.

“Truthfully, our first choice to conclude Course of the Force was Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band, but they're not currently touring in this system,” Course of the Force host Chris Hardwick admitted, “But I sincerely can't think of a better SECOND choice than The Dan Band! Everything is automatically more awesome when you add The Dan Band. True Story.”

Tickets to The Dan Band performance brought to you by the Course of the Force will go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The price of admission is $20 for premium viewing areas and $10 for general viewing areas. Fans must be 18 and older to attend. Tickets will be available online at sandiegotheatres.org.
