This is MTV Geek's Battle Arena Otaku Fight! Fight! A tournament-style, knock-down, drag-out, free-for-all, battle royale featuring your favorite anime, manga and Japanese pop-culture characters! Each arena match-up will be posted and voted on by you, the MTV Geek reader, and each winner will advance closer and closer to becoming the supreme reigning champion of the Battle Arena Otaku! Who will take the top spot? Sailor Moon? Godzilla? Hello Kitty? There's only way to find out…FIGHT! FIGHT!

Two laid-back antiheroes and two young guys with one thing on their mind: being the best!

The Spike and Mugen contest might be one of the closer ones that we run during Battle Arena Otaku Fight! Fight!: the stars of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo respectively have shaped their identities out of not really giving a toss what anyone thinks of them, but they're also two of the deadliest men in the respective series. Both have just a hint of tragedy about them although Mugen was able to get away at the of his series with a happy-ish ending (while it was pretty clear that Spike was done for at the end of Cowboy Bebop).

On the other side of things, we have two characters who care very much what the world thinks of their exploits, the bendable Monkey D. Luffy representing One Piece and Black Star of Soul Eater looking to be the top of the game in their respective stories. Luffy wants to be a great pirate while Black Star seeks to be tough enough to fight even a god itself. Black Star might have more of hard time of it though, given that his constant posing, set up, and entry speeches tend to undermine him every time, while Luffy is typically able to stretch, flex, and bend his way out of any situation.

In the battle between dueling indifference and comical ambition, who will win?
