‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ Premiere Party This Saturday In NYC!

Excited about Disney XD’s upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, but can’t wait for the premiere on April 1st? Then, if you’re in New York City, you’re in luck: Midtown Comics is hosting a premiere party for the ’toon complete with creator signings, and a non-stop loop of the first episode!

To get you up to speed, the new Ultimate Spidey series is being written by – among others – Man of Action Studios, Paul Dini, and Brian Michael Bendis, the guy who’s written every issue of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic series, in all its iterations. However, this won’t just be a rehash of the comic: Spidey is on a sort of team with Iron Fist, Nova, and more. Oh, and there’s elements of the movie Universe, including J.K. Simmons reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson, and Clark Gregg voicing the Avengers’ Agent Coulson. Plus, the series lets you take a look inside Spidey’s head, with innovative animation techniques, and structures pulled from Anime, Manga, and more.

So if you’re intrigued – and we sure are – you can head to Midtown Comics Downtown from 12pm – 4:00pm Saturday, March 31 to get in on all the action. Here’s the full schedule:

12pm–1:00pm: Signings with Joe Quesada (Marvel Chief Creative Officer), Man of Action’s Joe Kelly (Ben 10, Generator Rex) and Chris Eliopoulos (Ultimate Spider-Man premiere comic)

1:30pm – 4:30pm: Public premiere episode screenings every half hour!

Plus, there’ll be giveaways, free comics, and more! Oh, and here’s a quote about it:

“Ultimate Spider-Man is the next level of fast-paced action, lots of humor, and very cool heroes,“ said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “It’s a great opportunity for families and Marvel fans of all ages to share their passion for brand new shows featuring Spider-Man and the entire Marvel Universe!”

Kids can’t get enough of Jeph Loeb, right? Kids always be like, “Yo, you hear what Jeph Loeb had to say?” and then other kids are all like, “You kidding? I’m loeb’n right NOW!” We may not know any kids.

If you want to check out the event, and then tweet spoilers at your friends, and then your friends will get mad at you, click this link to find out more info on where to go. And for those of you not in NYC you can check out the premiere of the first episode on Disney XD, Sunday, April 1st.
