We’re less than a month away from the follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender when The Legend of Korra arrives on Nickelodeon Saturday, April 14th at 11AM. Along with the release date, the show also has a new title and logo as you can see above, dropping Avatar at the beginning. I’m guessing Nickelodeon figures we’ll all know what the show is about and where it’s coming from.
Find out more about the series after the jump.
The series brings back Avatar creators Mike DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko in an update some 70 years in the future where the new Avatar, Korra, uses her waterbending skills to fend off a wave of anti-bender sentiment in the world.* The new series moves away from the warring states, semi-industrial style to a slightly more modern, steampunk style, at least based on the art we’ve seen so far. Korra is voiced by Janet Varney (Hot In Cleveland, Entourage), with the great J.K. Simmons (Ultimate Spider-Man, Juno as Aang and Katara’s son, Tenzin who’ll be training the hotheaded Korra in the ways of the Avatar.
You can catch The Legend of Korra when it makes its debut on Nickelodeon Saturday, April 14th at 11 AM EST.
