'Archer' Picked Up For A Fourth Season, Creators Reed and Thompson Get a Two-Year Deal At FX

This should make fans of the FX Network's animated workplace espionage comedy Archer: the network has ordered another 13 episodes of the series as well as locking down a two-year deal with the show's executive producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson for any projects they might deliver in the that time with their studio, Floyd County Productions. For more on the agreement, check out the rest of the article after the jump.

The deal also means that Floyd County will continue to provide animation for the series along with the new show Unsupervised, along with any new animated show to be produced or animated by FX Productions. This is a pretty sweet setup for Reed and Thompson and also a fine chance to point out that Unsupervised (while still finding its footing) is pretty dang funny (it borrows some of the Beavis and Butt-head vibe but the lead characters are sweeter and their misadventures a little more gruesome/weird.

Anyway, word from the suits according to the Deadline piece: “It was an easy decision to order more Archer,” said FX’s EVP original programming Nick Grad. “Adam, Matt, and our amazing voice cast are delivering one of the funniest and smartest shows on television.”

Archer currently airs Thursday nights at 10 on FX.
