G.I. Joe: Retaliation Toys "Finally" Bring The Rock Back to the Toy Aisle!

The Jay-Z quoting Superbowl spot for G.I. Joe: Retaliation didn't disappoint, and neither do Hasbro's upcoming line of action figures based on the film! While Toy Fair storms it's way into New York next week, the makers of A Real American Hero have released a number of hi-res photos from the initial lineup. As you can guess, there are figures of both Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Roadblock) and Snake-Eyes in the first wave. Read on as we show off the single carded figures, plus three upcoming SDCC-exclusives!

Snake Eyes

Like the other figures in the line, Snake-Eyes has a great sculpt that should please collectors, along with some large, removable weaponry (in this case a winged jet-pack) that will keep the kids happy.

Duke

No offense to Channing Tatum, but we don't think he'd be able to heft that massive rocket launcher... after all, it's not like he's this next guy.

Roadblock

"The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment" manages to score one of the most accurate headsculpts we've ever seen for a movie-based 3 3/4" Joe figure! His right hand also appears to have the handle for his large weapon permanently sculpted as part of it. We're not sure how to feel about that, but we guess that keeps the figure from dropping such huge hardware.

Joe Trooper

This figure of the basic Joe Trooper has EVERYTHING! Not only does he have tons of accessories, including a ridiculous Cobra disguise, but also has an incredible mohawk-ed headsculpt!

Cobra Commander

This is the Cobra Commander we wanted from the first G.I. Joe film, and were stoked to finally be getting him! From the battle helmet to the gold cords decorating his uniform, this version of the Commander is the real f'n deal and he proves it with that fire-breathing snake staff!

Storm Shadow

Storm Shadow's updated suit looks really nice-- and is much, much better oriented for fighting than a trenchcoat.

Red Ninja

These are the guys in the trailer that Snake-Eyes and Jinx fight on the mountainside. Te Red Ninja uses a lot of previously released Storm Shadow parts, but it fits this figure perfectly.

Zartan

Zartan has always been one of our favorite Cobra operatives, and the leader of the Dreadnoks has a very distinctive look this time around. While we are very into the design of the figure, including the interchangeable heads, this is one figure that we have trouble picturing up on the big screen. One more reason we can't wait to see G.I. Joe Retaliation!

SDCC 2012 Exclusives

Kim Arashikage (Jinx)

Like the 2011 SDCC Zaranna, there will be two versions available of Jinx at the big show.

Shockwave HISS Tank

While last year's Starscream Sky Striker stole the hearts and obsessions of con-attendees, we're not sure if this Shockwave HISS Tank will cause the same ferver. However, it looks baddass! Our big question is, who is gonna be driving this bad boy? Last year it was Cobra Commander in a flight suit. Perhaps Destro will command the cockpit of this Decepticon tank...

Expect these figures, plus vehicles, and role-play items to begin hitting stores in March. For more on this line as it happens, be sure to check out Hasbro's official G.I. Joe website! G.I. Joe: Retaliation blasts its way into theaters on June 29th!
