MacWorld 2012: Animation-ish Coming To iPad In Summer 2012

New York Times best-selling author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds revealed during his keynote at the Educators @ MacWorld event that his software company, FableVision Learning, and development partner, Toon Boom Animation, are releasing their best-selling Animation-ish software as a standalone iPad app.

For those of you who aren't familiar, Animation-ish is a simple program designed for people of all ages who want to try their hand at digital animation. Unlike professional tools like Flash, Animation-ish provides a streamlined work environment and toolset in an attempt to get users animating in minutes.

Everything used in your animations must be hand drawn and if you don't have a drawing tablet for your PC or Mac it can be a little tricky getting the results you were hoping for. An iPad version, on the other hand, is a great move as the platform already provides a drawing surface (the touchscreen) and will allow users to create animated doodles on the go.

The iPad app will be available in early summer 2012 along with the new Animation 2.0 software for Mac and PC, which will provide key updates that Animation-ish fans from around the world have been asking for. If you want to learn more about Animation-ish head over to
