'The Fades' and 'Nerdist' Take Over BBC America's Supernatural Saturday

This weekend, BBC America’s Saturday night is all new with UK horror import The Fades, and a brand new episode of The Nerdist featuring Alison Brie and The Big Bang Theory‘s Kunal Nayyar! So, you know, there’s your Saturday night for you.

Oh, you want more details? The Fades is about a teenager named Paul who can see ghosts. Who like to kill people. And he finds he may not just have the power to stop them, but also can see the future… And it looks like he’s already lost. We’ve actually seen the first two episodes of the show, and it’s a stylish, very dark horror show mixed with an insane amount of geeky references to everything from Star Wars to Alan Moore. The nice thing is that the leads actually feel like they might be the awkward nerds you see at conventions, and not just hunky actors wearing thick rimmed glasses.

Here’s a promo to check out, and whet your appetite:

…And if that wasn’t enough, you’re also getting a brand new episode of The Nerdist, featuring geek dream girl Alison Brie, from NBC’s Community, The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar, Thomas Dolby, and Lily Loveless of Skins! If you haven’t watched the hilarious panel show yet, definitely check this one out, and prepare to get geeked by host Chris Hardwick and friends:

So there you go! Grab your TARDIS mug filled with blue milk, throw on your Spock ears, and have a perfect Saturday night. And before you think I’m making fun of you, realize that’s how I’m dressed right now.

The Fades premieres at 9/8c on BBC America, followed by the Nerdist TV special at 10:15/9:15c.
