Soul Electronics and Grammy award-winning recording artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges were at CES 2012 this year showcasing new designs for the Soul by Ludacris premium headphone line. Among the new designs are the SL300CG chrome gold and SL150CS chrome silver Limited Edition models.
We were lucky enough to meet up with Ludacris at the Soul Electronics booth here at CES 2012 where he explained his inspiration for the premium headphone line and filled us in on his involvement in their development.
“The only reason I even wanted to do a headphone line was because I heard the competition and wanted to make something way better.” said Ludacris, “It’s about perfection, man. I’m a perfectionist.”
Also revealed by Soul Electronics and Ludacris was a new wireless entertainment solution known simply as the Party in a Box or PIAB. It’s basically a reimagining of the boombox for a new digital generation and supports three different formats with Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth and a 5.8GHz two-way transceiver.
The PIAB sports an eight-speaker, Omni-Directional Hybrid system with dual 6.5-inch subwoofers, two 3-inch midrange speakers and four one inch tweeters. A programmable multi-color perimeter light helps set the mood while analog VU meters monitor the systems voltage output and let watch the needles jump back and forth.
“We’re just scratching the surface” said Ludacris, “Trust me when I tell you we have a lot more in store, and a lot more partnerships we’ll be able to announce very soon.”
Pricing and availability still hasn’t been announced for the Party in a Box system, but we’ll be sure to let all of you know when that information hits our inbox.
