Fully-Functional Batmobile Replicas Now For Sale!

While the Tumbler seen in Christopher Nolan's recent Batman films is definitely a bad-ass machine, none of us will be driving one anytime soon. However, that doesn't mean you can't get yourself a different Batmobile to cruise around town in. In fact, Firebox is making it really easy to get one as long as you have around $187,200 to spare.

That's right, the Batmobile you see pictured above is an officially licensed, fully-functional replica of the beast Adam West was driving back in 1966 and it's loaded with all the gadgets we remember from the TV series – a working flamethrower rocket exhaust, flashing red beacon, roll top dashboard doors, automatic Batbeam antenna grid and the  Detect-a-Scope radar screen. It even sports an automatic truck lid and hood.

Modern amenities include a push-button ignition, dash mounted DVD player and a six-speaker audio system. Under the hood of each Batmobile is brand new Chevy 350 crate engine that puts out 280 horsepower and 325ft/lbs of torque. Paired with an automatic transmission this Batmobile will go 0-60 in just 5 seconds, but sadly only has a top speed of 90 mph. Another low point in the performance area is the gas mileage, the thing only gets 9 miles to the gallon!

If you've got money to burn and happen to be in the market for a retro Batmobile head over to Firebox and check them out. There's also a video of the 1966 Batmobile replica in action here.
