‘Blade’ Anime Premieres On G4 January 13th!

He’s been tearing up the pages of comic books for years and Wesley Snipes brought him to the big-screen in three feature films. Back at NYCC 2011 Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb told us that supernatural Daywalker, Blade, was coming to the small-screen in his very own anime series and Marvel has finally revealed that Blade’s animated debut will premiere exclusively on G4 beginning in January.

Following Marvel’s previous anime series airing on G4  – Wolverine, Iron Man and the X-MenBlade will offer viewers 12 half-hour weekly episodes filled with “more action, terrifying villains and bloodthirsty monsters than you’ve ever seen before”, said Marvel.

Harold Perrineau (who you may remember from the Matrix and Lost) will voice Marvel’s half-breed vampire slayer as he travels across Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia hunting down the evil Deacon Frost. At his side will be young vampire hunter Makato and the duo will set out to destroy the vampire organization, Existence.

Directed by Mitsuyuki Masuhara, written by Kenta Fukasaku and featuring music by Tetsuya Takahashi (who worked on previous Marvel anime series) Blade will be the final chapter of the Marvel anime series and will bring an end to Marvel and G4’s exclusive partnership.

Blade will air on G4 beginning January 13th at 11pm ET/PT
