2011 Gaming Accessories Holiday Gift Guide

The holiday season is upon us and that means it’s time to start searching for that perfect gift. The gamer in your life would probably love some new gear and to make your annual shopping adventure a little easier we decided to put together a list of 10 awesome gaming accessories.

Boomchair Pulse
Every gamer needs a good chair for those late night gaming sessions and what could be better than a gaming chair with built in speakers, vibration feedback and wireless connectivity? For $140 the Boomchair Pulse delivers all of that and folds in half for storage. You can pick one up from Boomchair.com – they also have 19 other chairs to choose from if red isn’t your color.

GAEMS G155 Portable Console System
There are plenty of portable gaming systems out there, but if you want a true console experience on the go the GAEMS G155 Portable Console System is the one for you. It provides a 15.5” HD display, dual 3.5mm headphone jacks, stereo sound and is compatible with Xbox 360 and PS3 Slim. It also has the TSA’s stamp of approval so there shouldn’t be any trouble getting it on a flight. It will set you back $299 at Gamestop.com.

NYKO Zoom
Sadly Microsoft’s Kinect doesn’t get along with smaller rooms very well, but NYKO has a solution. The Zoom attaches to the front of Kinect and reduces the play range required for Kinect by up to 40% allowing users to use the peripheral in a smaller room. Head over to Nyko.com to get one for about $30.

FragFX Shark & Shark 360
PC gamers can feel more at home on an Xbox 360 or PS3 console thanks to the FragFX Shark and Shark 360 from Splitfish. The wireless mouse and and one-handed controller combo provides all the buttons found on a standard controller and will let you dynamically program motion and adjust the sensitivity. Head over to Amazon.com to check them out.

LevelUp Carry All
All those games laying around the house are going to get ruined if some organizing isn’t done. If you’re looking for a simple (and relatively cheap) solution to the gaming clutter the LevelUp Carry All could be the answer. It can hold up to 20 game cases along with a bunch of controllers and is completely customizable thanks to the removable controller trays. It won’t hold your Xbox 360 or PS3 console, but for $13 at Bestbuy.com you really can’t beat it.

Azio Levetron Mech4
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgot about the PC gamers. The new Levetron Mech4 from Azio features a numeric keypad that can be configured to your play style and seals and drainage gutters that protect the beast from spills that would typically bring your gaming session to a screeching halt. It also looks pretty damn cool and if you’re feeling the same way you can head over to Newegg.com and buy one for $119.99.

Energizer Power & Play Charge Cradle
This charging station is available for Xbox 360 and PS3 and will charge two controllers and a wireless headset at the same time. It features red and green LED lights that let you know when the controllers are fully charged and runs off of a normal outlet so the USB ports on your console can remain available. BestBuy.com has them for $30 and $35.

Xbox 360, PSN and Nintendo Points Cards
These don’t really fall into the “accessories” category, but with all the downloadable content and games available these days you really can’t go run throwing a couple of these in as stocking stuffers. You can find them for any of the three major consoles and they can be purchased in different amounts depending on how much money you want to spend. They’re available at pretty much any store that sells video games.

Gunnar Optiks Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Gaming Glasses
No gamer likes glare or eyestrain, but it unfortunately comes with the territory. Gunnar’s new shades aim to solve those problems with precision lenses, tinting and a lightweight design. They can also be outfitted with prescription lenses if the recipient needs them. You can get a pair for $99 at Gunnars.com.

Turtle Beach Surround Sound Headsets
Surround sound headsets immerse the player in the action and Turtle Beach has a ton to choose from. They are available for Xbox 360 and PS3 and vary in price depending on the features you want. Some models are also universal allowing players to use them on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles if they have both.
