Marvel and Capcom have released new character gameplay trailers for November's Marvel vs. Capcom 3 featuring a space-faring procyonid and a wartime photographer. Yup, Guardian of the Galaxy member Rocket Raccoon and Dead Rising star Frank West are joining the lineup in Capcom's update to Marvel vs. Capcom.
From the look of the video, Rocket Raccoon's going to join Zero and Sir Arthur as one of the game's grief characters. Gifted with a diminutive stature--he stands at a height slightly shorter than the Ghouls and Goblins star--it's likely that he'll be just as much of a challenge for even seasoned players to read, peppering opponents with his tiny projectile and melee attacks from up close (and likely making life miserable).
Meanwhile, Frank West seems to be a more traditional, medium-tier character, with what looks like a clean balance between medium and close-range attacks (at least based on the video). I love that Jill Valentine's zombie summoning move from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has made a return here, with Frank deploying the living dead to grab and hold opponents while he delivers additional attacks.
I have to say, I'm pretty happy with many of the new additions to the updated roster (although, yeah, I do hope Rocket Raccoon isn't as tough to counter/block as Zero has been). We'll see how the updated lineup pans out when UMvC3 hits in November!
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be available November 15th on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
