Want to know who will be bringing you the next great comic created by Stan Lee…who isn’t Stan Lee? Wonder no more!
At last year’s New York Comic Con, we announced the launch of MTV Geek, the home of MTV Comics and a daily destination for the latest in comic books, games, animation, toys, sci-fi, fantasy, and more. Part of the announcement was that MTV would be teaming up with Stan Lee on the creation of an original new comic book, entitled The Seekers.
At the MTV Geek Comic Con panel in San Diego on August 23rd, Lee revealed the narrative treatment for the book, as well as the launch of the contest in which would-be scribes and illustrators will compete in a life changing contest for a chance to work directly with Lee in launching the new comic book. Today at the MTV Geek Comic Con panel, he is set to reveal his selections for the writer and illustrator of The Seekers.
And here they are, ladies and gentlemen–the writer and artist of The Seekers:
Heather Kenealy, Writer for The Seekers
Heather Kenealy of Studio City, CA is the Screenwriter of DevaShard with Vanquish Motion Pictures, a movie project in development. She’s already begun her second screenplay based on an very popular video game. Look for her short tale, “The Story of Late” to be feature in Leap Books’ “Spirited,” an anthology of 13 ghostly tales with all proceeds going to 826 National to promote literacy. In her spare time, she works at a comic shop, is a monster at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, and plays on an X-Men rpg. Yeah, she’s a geek.
Stephen Green, Illustrator for The Seekers
“I was born in a rural town in northeast Alabama. I’m 26. I’ve always casually drawn, but I decided in 2009 to try to pursue art in a serious manner. I wanted to go to art school, but that’s expensive, so I am completely self-taught. Five months ago my wife and I relocated to Savannah, GA, so that I could establish contact with other artists.”
There you go! Thanks to everyone who entered, and congrats to the winners. We’ll have plenty more info on The Seekers soon, but in the meantime, check out Heather and Stephen’s winning Seekers entries!
