Nathan Fillion and More Guest Star On The New Episode of 'The Guild'

I have never wanted an Xbox more than I have this morning, as the new episode of The Guild exclusively on Xbox Live (and the Zune Marketplace), featuring not just the usual bevy of awesome video game in jokes, but also enough nerd-tastic guest stars to make any geek squee with delight. Specifically: Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly, Serenity), Doug Jones (Hellboy I, II and Pan’s Labyrinth), and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog).

For those of you NOT in the know, The Guild is a web series created by Felicia Day, and is one of those seminal pieces of entertainment that radically shifts how the industry approaches their creative process. Originally self created and produced, the series chronicles the web series ready adventures of Day and her fellow online gamer friends. Which is all fine and dandy, except the series has also gotten over 100 million views, critical acclaim, and launched the careers of pretty much everyone in the cast.

Basically, a big deal.

The current season has all been set at a gaming convention, and premieres on Microsoft’s services, before moving to the general public the next day. Here’s the official description of this episode – Episode 6 of Season 5, titled “Revolving Doors”:

Clara befriends some steampunkers (guest stars Doug Jones and Maurissa Tancharoen) while the rest of the guild explores the convention. Meanwhile Vork manages Bladezz career as an internet celebrity and crosses paths with a big star seeking advice (special guest Nathan Fillion).

You can check out this episode RIGHT NOW on Xbox Live or Zune; or if you’re a total newb like me, you can wait and watch it on MSN or Bing on September 1st at 12:01AM PT/3:01AM ET.

Let’s hope there’s some really good Captain Hammer jokes.
