'Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III' Gets Multiple Emmy Nominations

Seth and Matt are having a productive couple of weeks.

When talking to the creators of Adult Swim's most popular show last week, they gave off the impression of a couple of guys who are hard workers whose passion is still this weird, seat of your pants thing whose success continues to baffle and surprise them. Well, chock up another couple of surprises for them as their Star Wars special got the nomination for Outstanding Animated Program, with Green getting special notice for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance and the show got nominated for Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program.

Robot Chicken joins Futurama, South Park, The Simpsons, and the Cleveland Show in competing for the award the year while Green is up against The Simpsons' Dan Castellaneta, Christopher Plummer, Futurama's Maurice LaMarche, Bob Bergen of The Looney Toons Show, and Brenda Strong of Desperate Housewives. While I'm rooting for Green, I have to say that I hope the consistently terrific and funny Adventure Time takes it home for the Short-Form award. Meanwhile, going further down the list, it looks like Green's other regular gig, Family Guy, got a nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.

Best of luck to all of the nominees and congratulations to Seth and Matt.

The Emmys air Sunday, September 8th.
