We May Finally Get That Facebook App For iPad!

After a nice long wait it looks like Facebook is finally going to release an app for the iPad. While Facebook and Apple have both declined to comment on the rumor, The New York Times claim to have the inside scoop.

According to their report "people briefed on Facebook's plans" say a Facebook app designed and optimized for Apple's tablet could roll out within weeks. The app will feature overhauled chat and groups features while also letting users upload video and photos directly from the iPad's cameras -- of course, you’ll need an iPad 2 for that.

This is all rumor and speculation for now, but users have been complaining about the site not being optimized for use on tablets. Considering the incredible amount of Facebookers that access the site via mobile devices, making a tablet specific site or app seems like a no-brainer. As always, we'll be sure to let you know when we hear any official word from Apple or Facebook.
