Geeky Easter Basket Ideas!

Easter is just around the corner and you know that geek in your life isn’t looking for a basket full of marshmallow birds, chocolate eggs and a cute stuffed bunny. You need to find something completely different and MTV Geek! has you covered. We’ve put together a little list of inexpensive gifts that we hope will inspire you to get geeky on Easter Sunday.

Easter wouldn't be Easter without the sweets, so we've definitely got to put some in there and this Super Mario Bros. inspired tin full of Super Star Candies is perfect for the gamer in your life. What geek wouldn’t want to wake up, pop a star and feel invincible all day? You can grab one at Perpetual Kid for a very reasonable $2.99!

If you’re looking for something a little more entertaining you should check out Desk Pets’ TREKBOT. This two-wheeled micro RC features a 5-button USB charger/controller and will zoom around your desk performing flips and headstands for about $20. You can find them at RadioShack and they’re available in four colors and frequencies so you and co-workers can battle it out during that extended lunch break.

We said we wanted something a little different this year and since an egg laying rabbits clearly don’t exist why not add to the myth by throwing a fresh can of Unicorn Meat in the Easter basket? ThinkGeek has 14oz cans of this wonderful treat available for $12 -- apparently it’s an “excellent source of sparkles.”

For the techie always complaining about greasy fingerprints on their shiny new iPad or smartphone, the Toddy Smart Cloth is a stylish solution. The handcrafted micro-fiber cloths are available in 42 different designs and cost $13 at ToddyGear.com.

Everyone knows an Easter basket isn't complete without a chocolate bunny. However, rather than the same bunny that gets tossed in there every year, we suggest the Chocolate Zombie Bunny from ThinkGeek. Originally an April Fool’s Day prank, this festive, white chocolate zombie treat (seen at the top of the page) is ready to infect your Easter basket right now for $15.

Hopefully that’s enough inspiration to get this year’s geeky Easter started. If you’re working on a crazy geek idea for your Easter celebration head down to the comments and share it with us. We’d love to hear what you’ve got planned!
