Life-Sized My Neighbor Totoro Catbus To Be Unveiled In June

It was one of the coolest images from Hayao Miyasaki's beloved anime My Neighbor Totoro was of the "catbus" (nekobus). Now the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Japan will have a special exhibit in June, "Nekobus kara Mita F?kei-ten," featuring life-sized recreations from Ghibli's movies -- and among them will be a giant catbus!

There was already a plush catbus on display at the museum, but it was only child-sized.The catbus will be big enough for adults (and kids) to "ride" in, enjoying the landscape from My Neighbor Totoro. From there, visitors can stroll through recreations of the restaurant from Spirited Away, the antique shop from Whisper of the Heart, the forest from Princess Mononoke, and the hat shop from Howl's Moving Castle.

The exhibition runs from June 4, 2011 to May, 2012.
