Jason Biggs To Be Leonardo In New TMNT Cartoon

An intertesting tidbit of news from Nickelodeon's upfront last week -- American Pie actor Jason Biggs will be providing the voice of Leonardo in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. The all-CG animated series will launch in 2012, but attendees at the upfront got a special preview of the new TMNT, hosted by Biggs himself.

What do you think of Biggs as Leonardo -- do you think the actor fits the character? Leonardo in the cartoons and comics -- wearing a blue bandanna -- was the oldest and calmest of the 4 turtles, and in the 1987 animated series he's explicitly referred-to as their leader. Voice actor extraordinaire Cam Clarke (Kaneda in the English dub of Akira) portrayed Leonardo in the original series.

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently in production at the Nick Animation Studios in Burbank, CA.
