Hub TV, the joint venture kids network from Hasbro and Discovery, announced an all-new Duel Masters series at their upfronts on Friday, entitled "Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters".
Duel Masters has inspired a long list of animated series and video games over the years and this is a major coup for the young network competing against Disney, Nick, and Cartoon Network. Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters adds to a slate of boy-oriented programming on The Hub that includes Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe Renegades.
From their press release:
“Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters” (Hub Original Series, working title)
In this animated series inspired by the wildly popular trading card game, “Duel Masters,” a 14-year-old boy discovers a secret world in which mind-blowing creatures rule! These creatures harness special powers that if unleashed, could destroy the world as we know it. It is up to the boy to master his abilities in the ancient art of Kaijudo to protect their world and his own. Produced by Hasbro Studios.
