Voltitude Electric Bike Will Fold Up And Hide In Your Closet!

Electric transportation is all the rage nowadays. Whether it’s an electric bike, skateboard, seat-less unicycle or a fully-electric car, it’s really starting to look like this will be the way people get around for years to come. If you’re in the market for an electric bike with a decent range and short charge time in a space-saving package, the Voltitude has your name on it.

Looking at this Swiss-made scooter/bicycle I have no doubt the first thing that comes to mind when I tell you it folds up is Swiss Army knife. For some reason I don’t think that was an accident. The red paint scheme with the Swiss cross is just too much like a Swiss Army Knife to say it was unintentional. Like any other bicycle would, the Voltitude sports pedals to get moving, then the electric motor kicks in for that extra push up hills and through traffic. It is street legal and the creators say it will fold up in one second. You can catch a video of the prototype in action after the break. Just keep in mind its a prototype and doesn’t look as sexy as the production model.

It features wide wheels for stability, hydraulic brakes for those close calls, an integrated anti-theft mechanism to keep criminals at bay, front and rear lights and it’s clearly rear-wheel drive. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look any pricing details have come out just yet. However, we do know it’s takes about 4 hours to reach a full charge, at which point you‘ll have about 18 miles of cruise time at your disposal.
