Google’s Android OS has become the most popular mobile operating system in the United States, and it looks like their mascot is growing in popularity too. So much so, Dyzplastic and Google recently joined forces to bring a series of Android mascot collectible figurines to our desk, each one designed by a different artist.
Series 1 has been available for about a year now but, Dyzplastic recently previewed series 2 on their web site. 6 new miniatures have been shown off so far (Hexcode, shown right, is just one example) and two of them are actually designs dreamt up by some of the folks over at Google.
The series currently available can be purchased individually or in a case of 16. If you feel the need for a whole collection and grab a case you’ll get 10 unique figures and 6 doubles. With series 2 they’ve switched it up a bit by including 12 unique designs and only 4 doubles. So, you’ll still have a few to give to friends who share your love for the Android platform.
The mini-Androids retail for about $7.50 and DeadZebra was the place to go if you wanted to pick a few up but, it looks like they are all sold-out for the time being. However, there are other online retailers that still have some; you can find the list at DeadZebra. Series 2 will be available in early March; we’ll let you know an exact date when we hear of it. Until then, head over to Dyzplastic’s production blog and try to decide which one you like the best.
