'True Blood' Star Michael McMillian To Write 'True Blood' The Comic Book

In news that will no doubt be exciting to Trubies everywhere, IDW Publishing has just announced that Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newlin on the HBO series True Blood, will co-write an upcoming story arc of the new second series of comic adaptation. McMillian co-writes the arc, which will debut February 23, with Marc Andreyko.

“Co-Writing the TRUE BLOOD comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as longtime comic fan. It's a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing True Blood mythology,” said McMillian. Continued Andreyko: “Words can't express how excited I am to be writing this with Michael. We're doing our damndest to spin a tale that fans of the show, and comics readers, will drink up like blood!”

In more "True Blood" comic book news, a new hardcover collection of the first six issues, "True Blood: All Together Now" will be released February 15. And in addition to the print editions, "All Together Now" and the new story arc will be available digitally through Sony’s Digital Comics Store and Apple’s iTunes Store.
