The fact that Apple mobile products don't support flash at all is a huge disappointment for a lot of us. Web browsing just isn't the same when content is limited. Luckily, all that is changing thanks to a new app currently available in the App Store.
Splashtop Remote will run on all iPads, however, you'll need an iPhone 4 or 3GS running iOS 4.0 or later. The iPod Touch must be 3rd generation or later, and needs iOS 4.1. The app lets you remotely run your PC desktop on your Apple device of choice, but don't be mistaken, this is not a standalone PC emulator, you need to have a Windows XP, Vista or 7 PC, or Mac OS X 10.6 (beta) with 1GB RAM and a 1.6ghz dual-core processor running in your home. The software comes as two downloads, one for the PC and one for the mobile device.
The App will run almost all of our basic PC software right on the apple device of our choice. We can access Microsoft Word and edit documents, browse the web and watch video, play games with full flash support, and listen to any music stored on our computer. SplashtopRemote.com has a video right on their homepage that gives us a great look at some of the key features. The demo is on an iPad and shows Internet Explorer, Word and even Windows Media Center running, entirely touch enabled.
This is a great app for anyone who wants access to more content on their iPad, and you cant go wrong at the bargain price of $1.99.
