D&D Goes Digital!

Wizards of the Coast announced today that they will be releasing an online character builder application on November 16th, making the lives of Dungeons & Dragons players just a little bit easier. Built using Microsoft Silverlight, this will serve as the new official character builder, replacing the previous downloadable application.

Players will be able to store their characters in the cloud, so if you lose your character sheet or need to make changes, you can just log in and print out a new one from any available internet connection. Also, All of the character-building data from prior versions of the software will be available online, so old files are compatible with the new online system. As an added incentive to sign up, new data for characters created using the Dark Sun and Essentials products will be made available at launch.
