Druids And Catfish And Wolves, Oh My: We Can't Wait For These MTV Shows In 2016
We're more excited than Jessie Spano on caffeine pills. The reason? MTV's programming slate in the new year.
Thanks to a slew of upcoming scripted and reality shows on the network — both old and new — the boob tube is bound to be our best friend in 2016. Let's take a look at the coolest of the cool coming to cable next year:
"Teen Mom OG" returning January 4
How are Maci and Taylor doing with their latest bundle of joy Jayde? Are Amber and her fiancé Matt already making sweet memories in their new digs? How is Farrah faring after her public split with Simon? Find out just after the holidays -- AND get an inside look at Catelynn and Tyler's beautiful wedding!
"Teen Wolf" returning January 5
The second half of "Teen Wolf" Season 5 had better answer some major questions: What's up with Theo's new pack of chimeras? Can Scott and Stiles mend their broken friendship? IS LYDIA OKAY? What we do know is that the latest season is shaping up to be one hell of a ride.
"The Shannara Chronicles" premiering January 5
Based on Terry Brooks' bestselling fantasy novels, the new, post-apocalyptic series will feature a unique crew of elves, druids and humans -- and plenty of action.
"Greatest Party Story Ever" premiering January 14
Hear the outrageously epic party stories of real-life people -- there's plenty of debauchery, drunkenness, celebrity encounters and more -- in this new series that'll use animation to help tell its tales.
"Catfish" returning TBD
Super sleuths Nev and Max return with a new season of “Catfish,” the popular MTV series that unites singles with their Internet crushes IRL — for the first time ever. But are these online folks who they say they are... or could they be catfish? Stay tuned for Season 5 -- the premiere date will be announced soon.
"Real World: Las Vegas" returning (again!) TBD
The pioneering program is returning for a 31st season (yes, you read that right), and an entirely new batch of young adults will be living it up in Sin City -- for the third time! Hey, what happens in Vegas... winds up on MTV.
"Awkward" returning TBD
When Palos Hills' favorites return, time will have jumped ahead one year -- so anything is possible for Jatty and company.
"Faking It" returning TBD
Karmy ended things in a tough spot at the end of last season -- so hopefully a resolution, with a side of donuts, is just around the bend for the fun-loving BFFs.
"Scream" returning TBD
Even though the Lakewood killer was unmasked (PIPER HOW DARE YOU) during the inaugural season's finale, we just have a big tiny feeling that there is going to be more bloodshed (perhaps at the hands of Audrey?) in store for Emma and her loved ones.
