Your Favorite Artists Couldn't Stop Covering Each Other’s Songs In 2015

Here's 24 of our favs!

2015 has been a pretty fantastic year in music releases, but you know what? It's been a pretty phenomenal year in cover songs.

Everyone from Demi Lovato to Kelly Clarkson to One Direction to Nick Jonas has been showing love to one another in the form of songs, covering each other's biggest hits, all while making it their own.

To celebrate all these great musical moments, we've rounded up 24 of our favorite covers from 2015.

Selena Gomez: "Rude"- MAGIC!

For months we heard MAGIC!'s inescapable hit, "Rude," but we never heard it in such a sensual, emotional way, until Selena Gomez graced us with her cover.

Halsey: Juicy"- Notorious B.I.G.

Halsey shouts out Biggie in her song, "New Americana," but took it one step further when she put her own spin on his classic hit, "Juicy."

The Vamps: "Sorry"- Justin Bieber

The Vamps didn't let anyone down with their impressive cover of Justin Bieber's "Sorry," hitting all the right notes while incorporating some guitar riffs and some female background vocalists.

Hailee Steinfeld: "Let It Go"- James Bay

Hailee let it all go with this emotional cover of James Bay's hit, which clearly showed off her beautiful vocals and reminded us that she is a serious pop singer.

Sam Smith and Disclosure: "Hotline Bling"- Drake

The dream team, otherwise known as Sam Smith and Disclosure, put an almost tropical beat to the song, while Sam pours his heart out singing about a booty call.

Alessia Cara: "Love Yourself" - Justin Bieber

Alessia burst onto the scene with her single, "Here," but she originally was known for her YouTube covers, which she actually still posts. Just a few weeks ago she gave us her cover of JB's "Love Yourself," and despite learning it "three seconds ago," it was pretty much perfect.

Demi Lovato: "Hello"- Adele

"Hello" is not an easy song to sing (believe me, I've tried), but Demi Lovato makes it look that way as she hits all those signature high notes from the Adele hit while covering the song during a recent performance.

One Direction: "Torn"- Natalie Imbruglia

Before going out on their extended hiatus, the guys of 1D gave a "moment for their fans" covering "Torn," which just so happened to be the first song they sang together as group on the “X Factor” back in 2010.

5SOS: "Drown"- Bring Me The Horizon

The foursome stripped down Bring Me The Horizon’s “Drown” but gave it a bit of a twist with an orchestra, while also showing off Michael's vocal skills and perfect harmonies.

Ryan Adams: "Blank Space"- Taylor Swift

Ryan Adams didn't just cover one song of Taylor Swift's...he covered her entire 1989 album, which was just musical perfection in my eyes. He changed musical tones and lyrical meanings making Taylor's album completely his own...and she loved it.

FKA Twigs: "Elastic Heart"- Sia

FKA Twigs is innovative, creative and has a killer voice. She showed off all three with her ridiculously amazing cover of Sia’s "Elastic Heart."

Kelly Clarkson: "The Heart Wants What It Wants"- Selena Gomez

Let's be honest, Kelly killed the cover game this year each night on her Piece by Piece tour, so it's hard to pick just one, but I'm going ot have to go with "The Heart Wants What It Wants," since it's one of her "favorites."

Shawn Mendes: "Drag Me Down" - One Direction

Shawn got his start doing cover songs, so it's no surprise that he was able to make One Direction's "Drag Me Down" into a song that is all his own. The "Stitches" singer slowed down the beat and made the band's first single as a foursome a sweet ballad.

Tori Kelly & Miranda Sings: "Bad Blood" - Taylor Swift

Not only was this a memorable cover song, it was wildly entertaining as Tori's sweet vocals combine with Miranda's wacky persona. Oh, and it all went down in Miranda's cat-themed bedroom, so Taylor would be oh-so-proud of this rendition.

Nick Jonas: "Lay Me Down"- Sam Smith

Warning: this cover will literally make you weak in the knees. It's intimate, it's emotional and reminds us once again that Nick's got some serious vocal power.

Demi Lovato: "Take Me To Church"- Hozier

Demi didn't have just one, she had two standout cover songs this year, and this one will no doubt have you saying "amen," as she puts a haunting spin on the emotional track.

Cody Simpson: "FourFiveSeconds"- Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney

Several people, including One Direction, put their spin on "FourFiveSeconds" but nobody but Cody gave it a folk, laid back beachy rock vibe.

Lady Gaga: "Imagine"- John Lennon

Gaga delivered a powerful and emotional performance of John Lennon's classic, "Imagine" for the first European Games in Azerbaijan in front of 70,000 people. Gaga brought the stadium to silence with her big performance, which was simply stunning.

Fifth Harmony: "They Don't Know About Us"- One Direction

The girls have become good friends with the boys of 1D over this past year, so it was no surprise they decided to show them some love in the form of a cover song. They threw it back to the early days of 1D and performed a slow down version of their song, "They Don’t Know About Us" off of Take Me Home.

Ed Sheeran: "Dirrty"- Christina Aguilera

Ring the alarm! Ed Sheeran is feeling "Dirrty." The singer had quite a few cover moments (who could forget his rendition of Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen?") but my favorite had to be Ed doing his best Xtina. He turned the track into a midtempo jam and even went there with Redman's verse.

Charli XCX: "Shake It Off"- Taylor Swift

Charli XCX took Taylor's hit single and turned it into a pop punk jam filled with screams and shouted "hey!'s" and "no way's". It's totally different, but totally works.

Hozier: "Problem"- Ariana Grande

When the "Take Me To Church" singer tackled Ariana's "Problem," it turned into one of the most unexpected covers of the year. But surprisingly, it really works for his voice, as he infuses a bit of rock and soul into the song.

Meghan Trainor: "Don't Stop"- 5 Seconds of Summer

Meghan breaks out her ukulele to turn 5SOS' rock anthem into a folky, easy-breezy, laid back jam that you can picture yourself listening to while at a campfire on the beach.

Little Mix: "Want To Want Me/I Wanna Dance With Somebody"- Jason Derulo & Whitney Houston

This is hands down my favorite cover song of the year as Little Mix put their "Black Magic" over these two songs. They kicked it off with a soulful rendition of Jason's hit before smoothly transitioning to Whitney's classic track, that was completely unexpected, but just AH-MAZING.
